The first organizational meeting of Midway Heights Baptist Chapel was held on May 15, 1975, at the home of Roger Metcalf. In July 1975 the first service was held at Midway Heights Elementary School. A “Together We Build” banquet was held in April 1977 as members began the fundraising effort to build a church building. In June of the same year, Calvary Baptist Church accepted duties as the Mother Church for Midway Heights Baptist Chapel to assist where needed. One year after the fund raising began, April 23, 1978, the groundbreaking ceremony was held with the first service held on December 17, 1978.

On November 8, 1987, an organizing service was held for Midway Heights Baptist Church with 96 charter members. As needs grew, the church voted to expand in December 2001.  On May 4, 2003 a dedication service was held to dedicate the addition to doing God’s work. The addition includes a choir room, two additional classrooms, additional restrooms, a pastor’s office, a secretary’s office, and an unfinished basement.  This addition was built debt free and members continue to seek God’s will and direction in the next phase of construction to build a new auditorium.
